Hi! I’m Caesar Julius (yes…seriously, no relation).

I’m the author of Escape Plan & Greener Pastures and the founder of CaesarTheDay—a resource for retiring abroad without losing your mind.

CaesarTheDay exists to help you relocate with confidence, skip the rookie mistakes, and enjoy the process. Why the Books, Why This Site?

I’ve moved more than 20 times, including stints in London, Amsterdam, Paris, Rome, and Hong Kong. Add a career in IT and cybersecurity that’s taken me to 80+ countries, and you could say I’ve perfected the art of adaptation. Planning and structure are in my DNA—creating processes is what I do best. When it came to my own move to Italy, I built a checklist to keep surprises at bay. That checklist became my first book.

My second book, Greener Pastures, expands the focus to retiring in Portugal, Spain, France, Greece, and beyond—tackling the financial realities of building a new life abroad. I keep both books updated as rules change and new challenges crop up. And this is just the start—more guides are on the way.

Why “Caesar The Day”?

It’s a play on my name and a nod to my personal motto: Carpe Diem. With a name like Caesar Julius, Italy feels inevitable—but the spirit of CaesarTheDay is about living intentionally, embracing opportunities, and making bold moves.
